I was recently looking into buying some commercial real estate
I was recently looking into buying some commercial real estate, and I was astounded by just how much information there was available for me on the internet, not only to help me figure out what my choices were, but also to help me make my choices. It was my first time considering buying some commercial real estate; I had heard about a new business plaza opening near a university, and I was offered the opportunity to get in on the ground floor with that new commercial real estate, and rent it out to a restaurant when it was completed, and I was excited to jump on the band wagon, but I knew that it was important for me to educate myself a bit first.
So, I went home, turned on the lap top computer I keep in my bedroom, logged myself in, opened up my favorite web browsing application, hopped on over to a search site, and typed in 'commercial real estate first time buyer guide' and I got a lot of great general information from a reputable source, in regards to what to watch out for in a piece of property, what to watch out for in terms of a shady real estate agent, and the kinds of businesses it is best to rent to for a first time commercial real estate owner; it was all so helpful!
Well, I wanted to know if I would be getting into any unfamiliar tax situations, so I did a search for 'commercial real estate tax law' and made myself familiar with the taxes I would have to pay on the property. Fortunately, the tax information was organized in an easy to read, user friendly way, which was great for me because, like I said, I am really new to all this. With a little patience, even a newbie like me was able to get all his commercial real estate questions answered using the good old internet!
